Operator Qualification

  WPM's Standards of Safety and federal workplace safety laws specify that operators of certain types of powered equipment, and personnel performing specific tasks must be trained and qualified in accordance with OSHA requirements.

Examples of operator certification requirements include:

  • Forklift and heavy equipment operations

  • Crane, hoist and rigging operations

  • Electrical installations and repairs

  • Use of fall protection equipment and systems

  • Excavation operations

  • Lockout and tagout operations by Authorized Persons

  • Hazard communications training regarding chemicals used in the workplace
