  All subcontractor written safety programs shall have,
as a minimum, the following components:

These will be reviewed by the Project Superintendent and Safety Consultant.

  • Methods of training and providing safety orientation to new employees

  • Procedures for injury, medical emergency, accident and "near miss" response

  • Procedures for evacuation and shelter in place

  • Hazard communication program, inventory list and copies of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for each chemical product brought onto the project location

  • Electrical safety procedures and policy for use of Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI)

  • Lockout / tagout procedures for Authorized Persons

  • Lockout/tagout awareness for Affected Personnel

  • Policy and procedures for proper selection and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Site-specific fall protection program with anchor points specified

  • Operator certification for powered equipment, forklifts, work platforms, scaffolds and mast climbers

  • Construction site daily and ongoing housekeeping procedures

  • Fire prevention, safe and response procedures

  • Procedures for the safe storage and use of flammable liquids

  • Materials handling safe work procedures

  • Safety procedures for exposures to traffic / flagger procedures

  • Personnel lift equipment operations and safety procedures
