A special message to
subcontractors ______________________________________________________ We at WPM take safety very seriously and hope that all of you will do the same. We're glad to have you here to help us build this beautiful project. The job site, as you can see, is compact. This means everyone must be on their toes at all times. We’ve all got to work together to make sure that safety really happens -- that everyone follows safety rules and safe work procedures. We need YOU to be part of this. That’s the reason for this orientation -- to show you some of the safety basics about working on the project site. WPM as general contractor and each subcontractor have their respective responsibilities for safety and OSHA compliance at the project location. WPM's limited staff at the project location cannot be everywhere to oversee each subcontract worker at all times. As their worker's employer, each subcontractor has primary responsibility for making sure that its employees are properly trained, supervised, and perform work in accordance with the subcontractor's established safety procedures, project rules and OSHA requirements. WPM cannot (and does not) control the work of any subcontractor. WPM does have several methods in place to proactively monitor subcontractor work for safety and compliance in accordance with construction contracts. Subcontractors that fall short of contract safety requirements are subject to termination of contract and revocation of permission to access the project location. Please click through this brief initial safety overview and pay close attention to the information. If you have any questions, contact the Project Superintendent or Project Manager immediately. It’s important and may save someone’s life --
maybe YOUR life.
