Life & Death ______________________________________________________ Safety on a construction site is a matter of life and death. There are a lot of things that need to go right with every worker’s job. And, when something goes wrong – for whatever the reason – it could get someone hurt. OR WORSE. This brief presentation explains some basic rules, including an overview of your safety responsibilities as a worker on this construction project premises. When you’re through, you’ll be asked to sign an acknowledgment that you have been given this information and understand what has been presented. Let’s start with coming to work. If you drive here in a vehicle, you need to park it each day in a safe and legal location. Don’t block driveways to neighboring properties, apartments, private roads and driveways around the project. DO NOT park in ways that obstruct stop signs, traffic signals or emergency access routes. When you walk or drive across the project site boundary line, all of the rules and requirements of this presentation apply. Always remember that part of your job, every day, is to follow your own employer's safety rules and safe work procedures. You also must obey the general safety rules established for the project site overall. Safety discussions during weekly subcontractor management meetings and special safety bulletins are methods WPM uses to help make sure that YOU and your employees know what’s going on. For example, it’s important that you
know about other contractors on the site and the kinds of work
they are performing.
